I watch VM in Liverpool on my HTPC setup in Media Center with DVBLogics TV source decoded with Vplug 2.4.
However since VM updated its channel list eairlier this month it seems to randomly loose the signal on various channels including the fta ones. ![]() So far I have tried
Dose any one have any idea why this might be? we have not had any new cards so it's not the N3 switchover, and no-one else has reported such problems. Any help would be most appreciated. - Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I had the exact same issue last week although i am in London and a different setup to yours. I use a Sony Television and since some change last week i had issues where it was pixalating after which it said no signal etc. Many channels would just say no signal. At first i thought my 5 month old tv had it i.e. cable tuner was dead, logged support call with both Sony but luckily the day the engineer was due it was fine so i cancelled it and since then it has been rock steady. Id say hold on... i had this issue for 3-5 days. Thanks Last edited by chrisnasah; 22-04-10 at 05:52 PM. |

just because nobody has reported it does not mean its not happening to others.I've had the same problems as you(newcastle area) and decided to call it a day before the big shutdown.its not a massive loss to me anyway as there's a legit v+ and v box in the house, plus I use freesat for my htpc, the terratec usb tuner does freeview as well as cable so its now doing that.still its a pity though as cable on pc was working really well, and unlike some, despite having cable for years,I came into cable on pc just recently.

Progress
![]() I reset up my DVBlogic TVSource and W7 MC from scratch and removed all channels that did not display using VLC player and the preview function, nearly all the channels had at least 2 broadcast frequencies. This has got back most of my channels except for some that now have a poor signal or new channels picked up in the scan (1 instance only). I surmise that the repeat and additional channels picked up in the scan are probably VM trialing the NG3 encryption method and where this broadcast was the first picked up by TVSource it V.plug could not decrypt/ transmit the signal and therefore MC returned a 'No signal' error. As this also seemed to affect the FTA channels also it looks like these will be lost with the NG3 switchover. ![]() So it looks like the end is Nigh for using my PC as a PVR for Cable channels. Also to respond to river-rats ill considered comment, I have a VM subscription and only use my PC as a PVR.

An update to my earlier post New card arrived 3 weeks ago and Cable box had to switch over to new card last week.
However N1 encrypted channel frequencies are still being broadcast, but it can't be long before their switched off and it until it all comes to an end!
