i have the usbjtag nt with test clips for the ambit 256

its the first time i have used these on a 256 and don't know if i need the power plugged into the modem because it being usb it does not have anything to change the voltage on it ?

also will the usbjtag nt work if i take the chip out of the modem and read it that way ?

they are not any tuts for the usbjtag nt just the spi programmer so any help welcome

USB provides 3.3v or 5v (I can't remember which), that should be enough to power the modem.

well try it with no power to the modem 1st and see wot happens see if u get any lights or anything, if no good then power the beast up

so is there anyway to program the chip out of the modem like the spi programmer ?

tried it in the clip out of the modem but does not recognize it
