Guys
I've not long signed up to Plusnet for there internet service. I dont yet have Sky installed and i'm missing out on the new series of 24 so i thought i would look at downloading them I've installed Bittorrent and have the file downloading but it is so slow. Its only downloading at about 3kb when i have downloaded files off of other sites and its been around the 150/160kb per second. Anything that downloads off of bit torrent is only downloading at about 3kb, Now do Plusnet know what i am doing and restrict the access or is it something else? |

That just depends on whether you have configured your torrent client properly. I use utorrent in my opinion this is the best. No there is no way your provider would throttle your bandwith have you checked how many leechers or seeders there is for that file ? There is plenty more avenues you need to look at before deciding if you are being punished for downloading 120+ gigs worth of stuff a month (like i do) i say 120+ because how many gigs is considered appropiate before being throttled ? This new act will be hard to police as i have stated here :- http://www.techwatch.co.uk/forums/96...-new-post.html Last edited by andybr1ggs; 03-05-10 at 12:36 PM. |

You could also try usenet, it's not P2P so less chance of getting caught. You may have to pay for a decent server but it's worth it

I've since uninstalled bit torrent and installed Utorrent but again the same problem is happening.
Do you have any ideas which settings i could change to get it to work faster? |
