Posting here because i cant reply to pm for some reason,an infraction for an illegal link.the link was off site,on another web page like most of the files on here, so i assume all the cable links even though they are also off site are illegal as well,information on free channels and modem files (for information only is a cover to stop the site getting shut down,hence a lot of forums have gone because of this) etc.Are infractions issued for this also?,at the moment it appears not or else those particular sections would be non existent.

you can put links up for sites but not live links, all you do is miss the http out, and a infraction is just like a telling off it aint that bad mate....

Looking at the Link that you last posted, it doesn't in fact appear to be "an illegal link".

The words in the title suggest that it may have been though, maybe a mistake was maybe the moderator, not sure.

Illegal links are LIVE links to any material that is illegal, one has to use ones own judgement on that, and think before posting a live one.

eg BBC - Homepage - no probs

Anyway, since the link does not appear to link to illegal material I have reversed the infraction.

But one must be careful what one links to, to save us mods the job!

Oh, and by the way.

What exactly is this that you have posted??

Looks dodgy to me, that looks like an illegal link too.

Thank you,no that link is for open source and freeware apps similar to ubuntu software but for windows, if its not correct delete it it,thank you for the conformation.

No probs.

Any live links to upload/download sites are a "no no" here. We don't know what is in the files, and often is risky to click on them to find out. Best avoided completely.

Yes, but what do the apps do? That is the question. without clicking on it, downloading whatever it is , we don't know.

it includes firefox non windows trade mark apps and such,and i cant be bothered to argue my point any more,as the infraction still seems to stand apparently there is no link to files bit funny as I've been there but argue amongst it your self's bit of a petty issue,but enough to annoy me.

its just a place that you can get free sw from like limewire, emule, Anti-Malware, firewalls, :excetra.... but as i say in hes post that filehippo.com is a safe site 2 download all this stuff....

I think what we all have to understand is if a live link is posted then a mod is duly bound to check it out to make sure it is not breaching the rules which can be very time consuming if lots of people are posting live links, far simpler to make the link non active.
