Default Independent Movies

Anyone else into watching the independent movies? There is an old fashioned movie house in my neighborhood that shows nothing but independently produced films. They were lucky enough to snag "The Queen" for a few weeks, so I had the chance to see it twice.

I am lucky enough to have a movie theater near me that shows mostly independent films, too. I haven't been in awhile, though, I should really take the time to go see a good movie for once!

I have made a pledge to try and support this one more than I did last year. It is so much fun to go there, reminds me of my childhood, plus there is a great little coffee bar right across the street.

I find that most theaters that run independent movies seem to have more of an "atmosphere" as well.

Ours certainly does. It is always interesting to see the mix of poeple that come to see the films there. Often, the audience can be as much a source of entertainment as the film itself.

I love watching independent movies but we don't have a theatre like that near us that plays them. I wish we did. I know I would be going more. As it is I usually rent them if they come out on DVD.

My local theater has shown a silent movie twice a year for the last couple of years and had a band come in and to the musical accompanyment. it has been big fun to see movies from the first twenty years of the 20th century and see the works of some of the big stars of the day.
