Default MaxV question.

Hi all.
Is it possible to use a max-v as a freeview box?
I've reset to factory settings, connected an arial & scanned but can't get any channels.
Thanks for any help.

Sorry m8, wont work with arial, must be cable connection as live feed, and when it goes over to N3 it will then become useless.

We've already got n3, I can only now get 3 or 4 channels so the box is useless.
I quite like the menus etc on the maxv & was hoping to use it for freeview instead of what is built into the tv, but it's not to be.
I've never liked the samsung box I originally got from ntl & freeview is a better picture than the sammy.
Thanks for your help mate.

Thats N3 kicking in my area now, down to a few channels also, yes it is a nice menu etc on the max-v, will just keep the box connected and hope that the radio channels stay on as i like the radio on at times as it runs through my sound system...awell good while it lasted..and you just never know what comes next...jay

Do vm still broadcast anything on the old analogue? I've got an old jerrold box in the garage which got quite a good few channels before I disconected it in favour of the eurovox. It's been a few years since i last used it so I'm guessing they have shut anal down by now.

Dought very much if it will pick up a signal as its analogue, ,even if you did get something then it would'nt be long before that was off as UK changes over to digital this year.Dundee goes fully Digital in August..

Ah well, that's another box for the wheelie bin.
2012 for full digital in my area. Not that it matters to me I never watch the anal channels anyway.
Thanks again mate.
