Post technomate Manhatten Dreambox?? what are they?

ok first of all they all look really interesting.... but what do they actually enable you to do?

Watch cable tv such as ntl / telewest.. i assume

But am i correct in thinking you can pay for a basic package from ntl/telewest etc and these gizmos will enable you to watch all channels available to premium subscribers?

If so is this legal can one get in trouble for this and can the cable companys tell? Do you still need the original cable box and viewing card etc hooked up?

Also is there a similar system available for sky digital?

sorry if these are really newbish questions!

Technomate and Manhattan are both patchable satellite receivers. The dreambox can be used on satellite or cable depending on the tuner inside
