Default Formatting hard driveand installing XP

Hi all,Ive got another pc with windows 98 on it, i want to totally remove 98 format the hard drive and install xp but im no pc expert and not sure how to do it.
1,Do i need some boot discs,i dont have floppy drive
2,ive got a copied xp disc with service pack 1 + 2 and a hologram xp disc and a COA sticker but does the COA sticker have to be matched to the disc or dosnt it matter,would i be ok using the copied disc
3,Do i need to save any drivers to reinstall
Any advice would be much appreciated.Thanks total novice!

all the information you require is allready on this forum, use the search function, as for the COA disc it is tied to the pc it was made for, i recommend you obtain xp drivers for every device that needs one (google), BEFORE formatting, as for the formatting of the drive this will happen automatically when xp is inatalled, all you need is to make your cd the first boot option in bios and choose ntfs as the format, and as for the copied disc DO the search.gl

does anyone know where to find working product key for windows xp home i'm stuck with a patch i have to run every couple of months because i made a few errors over the years and had to format a few too many times

If your pc has windows 98 installed on it, because of the hardware differences since windows 98 were used, i would look at windows 2000. Chances are it will run a hell of a lot slower using xp. Spec says a minimum of 128 ram, i would say 256 is the least you should try...
