Hi everyone, im just trying to learn about chipping cable boxes. so far i gather that i need to unloop(unlock?) a card, edit the image and write it to another card.

I thought you actually needed to do something to the actual box.

basically could some one tell me where to start and what i need to do to get myself going.

well go on ebay try 2 get a time machine then go back about 5 years then ask that question lol

Read up about nagravision 3 the cable killer..

and just to note, im in scotland west area, and i know it can be done since i just had by boxes chipped a few weeks ago... and is it not nagra 4 that has just came out?

Well basically all i know is what i wrote in first post. And i know a bit about the devices i need, like an unlooper , a card reader with phoenix mode, and the only software i know of is called nagraedit. Then i think you make an image of an old card since its unique to the box, then edit it with nagraedit, and write it to new card and thats you.

I know thats probably nothing like what u do but i would sure like to be corrected and given a bit of guidance.

glitch the card
open card in nagraedit
copy paste bk and ird
write ird and bk to new image
put talkback filter on box
boot box with card in

plus about 12months worth of reading threads on forums for specifics

well you need a unlooper and phoenix's usb programmer and a box then you can go from that you may need a jtag on some boxes or blank chips if your doing v+ boxes out of your net ID and tuts from downloads.. GET THE STUFF THEN WE WILL WORK ON IT,
unlooper from G77 and get phoenix's usb programmer from here
