Default Newbie Questions

Hi,

I am currently on cable for all my services.

I am interested in buying a box not sure what one yet but I have a few questions. (Any Ideas)

I currently have one feed coming into the house, this then goes downstairs and gets split off for the broadband etc. Can I put a splitter on the feed before it hits the TV and Broadband. Will this affect the signal.

Can the companies actually find out or is it impossible

Thanks

yes another splitter will reduce the signal strength but not enough to matter ,no the CC can't detect the box as there is no chat back but keep your subbed box connected also , lots of talk about CC monitering ebay sales so best buy from a website or market etc

Thanks for getting back to me.

I have checked the set-up and there is TRIS 102A isolator unit on the feed as soon as it enters the house. Then the feed continues and is joined by a female, male type connection. Do I place the splitter on the male to female connection or do I place it before the isolator unit.

Also is the isolator unit going to make a difference

Thanks for your help

where you have the connection male to female would be ideal as any connection like this is costing you some signal strength ,or even do away the connection and fit a new cable run and fit the splitter where its in the ideal position for you

Thanks for your help

I'll probably split it off at the female to male connection

So you don't think the isolator connector would make a difference
