i know the dbox scene is just about over but i want it known i supplied a service for which the girls on here got into a strop.
people were more than willing to pay for the service and they are still asking!
same as the op asking to pay for something he cant do himself.

i just wanted my 2 pence worth lol !!

i fully agree with you 100% mind you i do a service for free where ppl sell it on ebay and make money, radio decoding, i got the software for free so giving it away for free, it i can help ppl then that makes me happy, but if i had the knoweledge to help out anyone i would, but yes for a price, some1s got to pay my funeral cost if i get f,,,,d, theres a big dif between soldering and doing a dbox, you should get well payed for re .doing a persons dbox, they get hundreds of channels for free, easy way is ebay, just like all the rest, and prob most of them on ebay are actually in all the forums, and getting there info from here, oh well nothings free in the world anymore,

ok just mins ago had a txt message, now remember this person who sent the message is not a mate, i used to work with him about 5 years ago,, spoken to him about 5 times in that amount of years, and only if he wants sumthing, his message reads to me,
Hi paul got a new handset, but now iv lost all the chanels, done a scan but it finds transponders then says errors no channels found , can you help,??????
so i sent back, if you do another scan,
services ,tv and radio
bouquet, create new, and they will be all over the place,
cable provider 6952
then scan, i also said that if i got to come down ill do it for £ 20

this is a person who is only a so called mate when he wants sumthing, am i right or wrong in charging him, as i got to use my time, my vehicle, my laptop, my fuel, when i could be watching big brother, ????????

lol yeah i have some of those mates, for ages you hear nothing then all of a sudden they have a problem.
mind you some of mine do offer to pay if i have to go out of my way as they know if they sought help elsewhere they would have to pay anyway.
of course you could offer mates rates which is the same a snon mates rates but the mates dont need to know that.
what i have done in the past is ask my mate who needs the help to help me or to drop some coins into a kids charity box somewhere and that is usually payment enough for me!

but im on your side,, charge him, im sure if he was a roofer he would charge you a small fee for climbing up a ladder and making good loose tiles!

regards dave
