Red face eurovox max 3 setup problems

Hi All, very new to this site, i apologise to ALEX123 for sending a PM i read the thread about not sending PM after i had sent it!

Anyway, my problem is that i installed my box today and it did a powerscan and picked up about 120 channels or so but when i actually try to put a channel on it says INFORMATION service unknown. All the information is there in EPG so i'm obviously doing something wrong. Can anyone help at all please. Im in Liverpool if that helps at all and i disconnected my TW box.

If its just a problem with the scan a lot of the posts here (including the sticky posts) describe how to change the symbol rate to get the channels. It sounds as if you have put the cable into the wrong socket on the back of the box.

If you have put it into the socket labelled aerial it is correct, if you have put it into the one labelled ant it is wrong.

Hope this helps.

btw if you have digital consider a splitter device and leave your original box on as you risk being caught.

thanks flashman,

i checked all the connections and everything was fine, i finally got a response from the supplier and when i did the powerscan i had to to a full scan rather than a normal scan (whatever that meant!) anyway, i did that and it worked.

thanks for your input about the splitter device, i shall go and get one!

the only time I have seen this happen is on the eurovox 3 bought after september last year and when trying to load older firmware so I would check what firmware you are trying to download ,there is also a firmware error file for when an ev2 won't take the normal firmware ,if you have correct firmware then delete channel data and try again if still no joy then open up the box and check the ribbon cable from psu to main board is sitting in right as it can come loose

hi no its not a must you won't get somobody at your door 5 mins after you detect it but VM will know the box is disconnected and can send an engineer to your door to see what the problem is ,I know people who have disconnected for months and never heard a word ,but you would be best to have all boxes connected up in differant rooms via a splitter .
