Unhappy Help with Eurovox Max 3 If Poss Please

Hi
I finally connected my box today but got the message no signal the box has been working across the road at my friends so I assumed that all I needed to do was bring it over and connect.
The only difference is my friend has cable tv I only have cable broadband. I decided to wipe the channels and start again but forgot to remove my splitter, so I have sent the box back across the road to my friends so he can connect it straight to his cable tv and tune in the channels.
The thing I was, I had to make my own cable (coax) with ends so may be its possible that these where not good connections, so now I have been and bought a ready made lead to run from the splitter down stairs to the eurovox. Am I doing all this correct, is the signal coming to the broadband the same as the tv or do I need a subscription to cable tv of some kind.
Thanks for your time and patience
K

You don't need a separate subscription it all comes down the same coax, remove the cable from your modem and plug straight into your eurovox this should bring it on, if it does then you know you have a problem with the cable going to the room you had the box in. try to get a proper digital splitter and not one of the y-type splitters as you have crap signal levels from them, hope this helps...
