Default BSKYB Buys Out Virgin Media.!!

For a fee of £160.000.000 i hear but I'm not sure what this means and hope people here would know what it does..

Does it mean that everybody on a cable subscription will have to be upgraded to a Sky Dish as Sky has bought the entire cable side of things or will they run both systems cable & dish..

Also what was the point in Virgin upgrading their encrption to Nagra 3 only for Sky to buy them out a few months later. Nothing makes sense to me to be honest. And all seems a little strange.

Does this mean the end of premium freeview full stop

BSkyB have bought out 'Virgin Media TV', a completely separate entity to Virgin Media Cable TV.
'Virgin Media TV' is the company behind Virgin's own channels such as Virgin 1, Challenge, Living, etc.

So no, nothing has and will changed with your cable tv, read the article properly next time. As part of the sale, sky are now offering their premium HD channels to Virgin Media cable TV and these will probably come to Virgin in the next year.
