any one help with this problem... dish and motor and pole all set up correctly ? and pointing due south.(motor set to zero) using a dm500hd reciever.
have put my cordinates in the setup for usals... ok now when i tune to astra/hotbird 28.2e the dish moves east like it should do but stops on about 36 degrees east... i have to then inch the motor back 8 degrees to the west by using the manual movement button on the motor... any help with this would be appreciated

Are you able to read the pointer position on the motor?
For 28E, in your location, it should be about 32 eastward.

i have set the pole up so that it is straight and checked with spirit level.
the dish is pointing due south...checked with compass. have put in the usals settings Latitude: 50.9319° Longitude: -1.4329° and still reads 36 on the motor marker

There is no way you can be accurate enough with a compas. What you need to do is send the motor to 1w on the reciever. Then allign the dish by moving the motor around the pole and altering the dish bracket angle.
Make sure the elevation/latitude scale matches your location. Hopefully that will sort out your problem.

Motor angle should be about 33 degrees, so it isn't that far out, if you account for any errors reading it.
