my technomate 5400ci keeps booting on and off,can anybody help?after few minutes the channels comed on,but broken picture and no audio,as soon as i press the channel button it stars booting on and off,any idea what it means?i have tried patching but it wont let me,it keeps booting on and off.

Try loading the original sofyware, for your Technomate, and then load the patch.
Make sure you load the correct patch, there are two different versions, for your receiver, one for the normal model and one for the super, it sounds like you've loaded the wrong version.

Not the patch but the original firmware, most older receivers use a null modem cable to load the firmware, but check which model you have and load the correct firmware.
I don't know about the Technomate 5400, check the instruction manual.

Unlplug the LNB cable, just in case there is a fault, try reflashing with serial as already said.

thanks for that,but i have tried it with a cable and the lnb cable disconected,but still no joy,the only thing i get is a broken picture and broken audio,i read somewhere it might be the lnb cable,any ideas please help.

Take your receiver to a friends house, or family member, and attach it to their Sky dish, if you get a good picture from the FTA channels on 28.2E then it's not a problem with your receiver, if not, and installing the original software hasn't helped then you might need to get it repaired, or consider getting a new receiver.
Did you manage to install the original firmware?
