I received my box today by parcelforce. The packaging itself was blank and unappealing. Without wanting to sound smug, Ive never really cared(its a low prority) about how something looked, instead how it performs
When I took it out of the box, I saw this black patch or sticker and immediately wondered where on earth the ethernet port was. I was having my doubts this time as I thought I may need an iconnector So I opened the box up and saw that the ethernet port was indeed covered by the sticker, so I pulled it off. I was not impressed by the mark it made though It was then time to download the firmware and it was p*** easy to do. Once that was done, it was simply a job of connecting the box to my wireless bridge(though you can simply use just the one router) When I went to scan, I noticed that there wasnt a netid for my local area, so I simply clicked the red button to scan all locations. It scanned fine, but I was unimpressed woth the EPG. As I was used to a linux box, with an enigma image I was unimpressed with the EPG and when cycling through channels, by going to categories and pressing info, it only showed the symbol rate and not the synopsis The sensor in the KV is relatively poor as well, but other KV's had this problem as well All in all, its not a bad buy but its main downsides are the poor EPG and the poor sensor. I would still definitely recommend it

Could you give us a channel list please and tell us how long your area has been on nag3. Also does the server go down a lot like the starview 6 problem any freezing on channels? I'm hoping to get one soon when my starview 4 finally dies, kryptview seems better than starview 6 purely down to better server at this point

All are working, but you can see from the other thread that some channels are still clearing. There are some glitches, but these are once in a while ie: once in four/five hours and even then they last for less than a second, so your not missing much

I have been reading your comments up to leading your buy of A780 I am a newbie when it comes to KV etc only ever had Eurovox(s) so if I were to get a A780 if understand correctly you stream/watch channels to your PC/Laptop? or once firmware is loaded and chennels scanned can it be connected to TV also? this may sound funny to you pros
but please clarify for me. Also is there a guide to KVA780 setup that I can download please post a link or pm me. And where best to buy it.. Thanks

wether the box allows streaming to a pc / laptop I dont know but I can tell you that the box can be connected to the TV via Scart. The box needs to be connected to your router at all times. It can flashed using the RS232 cable... once you have the cable you will need the latest f/w and the loader as well. |

The only way you could stream the data is to purchase a scart>VGA cable, but you will still obviously need to connect to a router at all times, so it kinda defeats the purpose as I suppose you would want it wirelessly transmitted to the TV, PC and laptop
