the jist of things is this.
N3 is by no means a new thing, it has been in use on the European satellite networks for well over 3 years. networks that are a lot larger than the piddly uk cable offering and it has yet to be broken. N3 has also been in use on the American side of things for over a year and it has yet to be broken.
so dont think just because it's now in the uk that some one is going to come along waving a magic wand for you to watch your free telly.

the most you can hope for at the moment is card share and even thats dodgy to say the least. especially if you go for the KV and SV offerings that connect to a large Card sever. because servers such as those will be targeted relentlessly and when they are shut down all those connected to them will be in the firing line for prosecution ( that means you plonkers )

I registered on this site hoping for a fix to our deceased entertainment box somewhere in the dingy lanes of this tech world.

I am no techy dude, but I work in NHS, also on N3, and the data transmitted, stored on SPINE, accessed across the nation (if need be) is fully encrypted and we are talking about patient data here. My recent request to remote access to my personal 'puter at another office in Nottingham was rejected outright and IT stated although this is encrypted, costs to set up remote access are higher. "Buy a SafeStick for a tenner instead."

Your post made good sense and will be my last post on this one 'til some jacka$$ comes up with a solution, which is impossible. Since we all live in hope, will frequent this site every now and then

In the meanwhile, I reckon our option here is to cough up our copper to Rupert Murdoch and his cronies.

Sunday Roast is ready, Many thanks for having me.
