dbox power problem

I was recently given a sagem which apparently just stopped powering up.I opened the case to find scorching on the power board.I replaced this with a new one thinking this would be a quick fix,it wasn`t .I get a crackle now when i plug in a power lead,but no red light or boot up or display .Any ideas please people

bin it i heard that the sagem dbox was mince nokia was the better box

check the onboard fuse is ok... it might be making a bad connection and arking the power across hence the cracking noise...

but it sounds like a component on either the mainboard or power board is popped.
take it to a tv repair shop where they can test the components. or
save the case and lcd for spares,, the rest recycle.

ive seen nokia,s that,s been crap.
if you get a good one of any make you wont notice the diffrence.
