You can find the Area code from a subscribed STB in the Engineers menu - the area's are big enough so you can't be identified from the area code. Just don't post a MAC address or IP address.

Hi all,
My eurovox max 2006 model (blue) has now stopped working. Having read loads of info from different forums it would seem that Virgin are in the process of chaging all there codes. Therefore does anybody know the new code for the coventry area? I am currently using 6887 but it aint having it. But, i also have the eurovox max 2007 model (red) but this seems to be working absolutely fine on the 6887 code!!??. Does this mean my 2006 model needs a software update and if so can i use the 2007 software cd that come with my 2007 model? I need help because its doing my nut in??? Cheers AndyP |

To all the guys with the Eurovox max 3 boxes makes sure you have the latest f/w loaded, which was released Feb2007. The boxes sometimes referred to as Blue and Red refers to the cardboard boxes that Eurovox box were delivered in, otherwise all these Eurovopx box look the same. You cannot flash the red f/w onto a blue box or vice versa. To upload the f/w you will need a null modem cable, get one from *bay or maplins. The net id are not going to make any difference to Eurovox box owners, the CC broadcast on 6887 or 6952, if you try one and doesn't pull any channels try with the other freq. When you first start your box make sure you do a full powerscan rather than normal. if anyone offers you new bluebox than its probably a clone as they only sell red boxes and these have a new philips tuner, though the blue boxes are much more reliable.
