how to chip open media boxes

Isnt this the dual lnb box that can switch from sky to cable, for the cable side of it I think its same as dreambox and you just flash a dreambox image to it. Wait for someone to confirm this.

I use that same box... have used it both on sat and cable... Chipping is not the correct term mate, as all your doing is flashing the box and putting in a modified image thats all.

And yes its a dual tuner box. Works on both sat and cable with a flick of a switch.

you can flash the box using the rs 232 cable and download the loader: '' dreamup''.

You cant modify the firmware of VM's boxes.

I'm going to assume that your initial question is somehow aimed at mking your box run with the new N3 encryption. If thats the case then there is no solution presently !

any box with an ethernet will work with an internet connecttion

but i assume that you want it to work on cable rather then sat am I right ?

or you not fussed in that regards.

put it this way

kryptview and starview boxes ( specific models) work on cable.

However the Starview combo works on both cable and sat as its got a dual tuner

Now as far as the sat side goes

there is soo many boxes that work with an '' internet connection'' but because its a taboo subject in this forum, am afraid you will need to google it.

Dreamup is a the loader... and you can google it and you shall find it mate.

You can flash the box with an Enigma ... NO bomb image or you can even use the PLI image on it as well if memory serves me right.

Also you can use the DK image on that as well.

There is so many images u can use on that box but if you decide to get the Enigma image then make sure its not got the '' time bomb ticker'' on it.

rs232 seriel to usb cable
dreamup software

and will any of images work for example:
dk_v1.1
Gemini_4.6_DM500_NObomb safe 100% for clone boxes
SS-Enigma_4-1_DM500

and will these images work on any box plz do reply

yes you got it mate they will work just fine mate

The images you stated above will work on your Open media box without any issues.

Sorry i recently aquired some new information about dreamboxes dm500 is it true that after flashing the box with the images i stated above will i need to get someones account in order for the box to recieve channels (on the internet) or will the box automatically detect signal after flashing. plz clarify this for me
