Hi

I currently have sky+, when installed i was using a little lcd that had hdmi so the installer went ahead and installed the sky+hd box with a hdmi lead.

Now i have a different tv that doesnt have hdmi but has components.

Can i buy a sky+hd box that has the components and simply swap them?

Will i have to pair the card with the new box. My current cubscription is just all the entertainment packs.

It has to be paired for recording I believe. Are there any other outputs on the box?, i.e composite or RGB. As adapter leads are available for those.

Well i currently have it connected by scart, but would like a tad better picture so hoping component will do that for me, plus wouldnt mind watching the world cup in HD.

So best bet is buy a box with component outputs and pair the card?

Yes, I think some of the earlier Sky HD boxes had component output.

I rang sky stating my problem and i wanted to keep HD they said we will send an engineer out to change your wire.

god knows what he is going to do.

you can only watch sky hd via a hdmi lead
you can watch it via a scart lead or a coax rf lead but it wont be in hd

Strange decision.
I don't know much about home cinema stuff, but maybe there are amps that can do HDMI-component conversion.
For HDCP to work the SkyHD box must confirm the attached device is a display.

The world cup is on free HD channels, so a generic satellite receiver with component outputs could be used.
