Remote acting up and memory?

Hi have a quick few questions if someone wouldn't mind answering me.

Does anybodys else remote act up as in changing to the buttons you didn't press? For example my remote looks ok but while trying to set mine up the other day everything was fine then I wasn't able to press the button EXIT and a few other buttons would change to different stations.

When my box came it already had image and CCcam loaded on it so how much memory should be left in my 500s? Have about 80% memory taken up but haven't downloaded any add ons!! Anyone know where I can find out what's safe to take off without screwing up box?

I bought a null cable and tried to flash a new image onto my box. Connected everything but with Dreamup it just please turn on box but the box was already on anyone else have this trouble?
