I want to see purchase a dreambox 500s but not sure where to get one from. I see that you cant buy originals anymore and there are plenty of clones around.

Are these clones worth getting? Any drawbacks with them?

The clones seem to work pretty well, sold quite a few of them.

You can get cheaper by importing from China but remember if they go faulty, you have to return them to China and you may get stung by customs.

Ive seen some pretty abysmal DM500 clones, and also some that work very well, and have no probs driving a motor. I suppose its a bit pot luck. But if a good source is found that have proved reliable enough in the past ( as mention by lincsat), then its worth a punt, I think.

Yes, only clones/copies though as they have not been made for some time.

TBH, I don't know if they power a motor, they do operate a Diseqc switch OK.

FYI,
the one i bought recently from Lincsat works fine. it drives the motor fine.
