Unhappy Im being scammed please help.

hello all,

I was wondering if you could help me or give me some advice as i am in desperate need, someone is currently trying to scam me through paypal, i sent a payment of £1300 via paypal for 5 x apple iphone 3gs 16gb but instead i received just a bag of sugar wrapped up in packaging, also the transaction is nothing to do with ebay only paypal, i am going to open a dispute with paypal so the funds get held however i don't have enough confidence in paypal to protect me as many legitiment buyers have been scamed which im sure your aware of, so i was thinking i will try and also take the matter into my own hands, i have done some reading on the net in the last few hours and found it may be possible to send a keylogger via email in order for me to retrieve his password and send the money back to my account or is that even possible.

what would you do to get the money back or even track the seller's location?

would really appreciate it if you could help me out as you can see it is alot of money and money i can't afford to lose.

thanks people.

Never ever trust a seller that you do not know or haven't had contact with before, even eBay sellers aren't always legit. You're best two options are either to contact PayPal and open a dispute as you suggested or contact the police and let them deal with it. As for e-mailing the Keylogger, that would put you as much in the wrong as the fraudster lol.

If you have payed through paypal , have nothing to worry about .

You will get your money back

They will have his address and will contact him to pay it back or will take the funds off him, if e does nothing they will then instruct a debt fund to get it back .

I read that if you pay via paypal only then you are not covered for the item not as described claim as the seller just has to provide a tracking number and the case gets closed in the seller's favor.

is this true?

Did you fund the transaction using a credit card?

That will give you extra back up if Paypal don't play ball.

If the goods you got was not what you bought , you will get the cash back through paypal , that's why they take a fee
