Default NTL and Fun files

Hi m8's

I have a few years in the sat side of educational cams/cards etc... I would be grateful on receiving information on what .bin (software) and cards you use for clearing NTL.

Now, do you require both a chipped box and card ( fun/tit etc.) or can you run a fun/tit card on a normal box to clear.

Thanks in advance

rx...

i have both fun card (1,2 and 7) and tit cards, can i use anyones boxkey from someone that pays for a sub? (or am i complicating it).

So, lets say im armed with, smart cards, phoenix infinity programmer & and box key, it sounds like i need a set top box which enables me to enter the box key as cards dont. Can you recommend any?

Cheers

hey clogman thanks for your reply.

I have no Cable tv atm, i use technomate 5500 for a motorised system however, im thinking of going dreambox 7020 route for sat viewing, can one of these (dreambox) be used for cable tv too, that would be ideal?

If so, where would i get a box key from? I assume, i would have to subscribe to a basic package then turn off talk back (somehow, need more info) but use the dreambox (STB) for opening channels, i maybe well off.

Then finally, once i have turned off talk back, wont that alarm N*L that somert is strange?

Cheers and many thanks for all the help you can provide. I have an email addy if its easier to discuss off board.

Thank you.

If you are using a genuine Cable TV box, then you need the box key. Like Sky the box is paired to the card. With a Dreambox, you do not need a box key. AIUI, some Dreambox models you can get both satellite and cable tuners.

hi lincsat,

Ok great so do all dreamboxes open cable and sat or are there 1 or 2 models. I'd hate to purchase a DB to only to find out its bloody the wrong model

I understand the images for Sat, what images are req for Cable, if any?

Cheers

My email if its best discussed off board jus1974@hotmail.com

OK so here is my take.

1. Dreambox 500c, DBOX2 etc... can all connect to cable without the need of a box key potentially clearing all channels, you take a link from your ORIGINAL STB that still talks back.

2. Standard cable boxes and open channels by use of smart card (fun files) providing the talk back is cut off. However, this method can be traced as there is no talk back yet there is power going through the cable.

Therefore, purchasing no 1 with the basic package without the need of cards and there is no talk back from the "after market" STB but it still talks back through the standard STB.

Am i correct?

Yeah thats me I think i have found my answers, the answer being NO there is no one box that can open both cable and SAT. It's basically 500c for cable and the other dreamboxes for SAT, i have been advised to stay clear of the DB7025 too.

I would also like to thank the people for their support.

Cheers...
