Slow toshiba laptop

Hi all, my wife has a toshiba equium 1.4 ghz,, yes ok slow, but its got 256 ram only, yes ok even slower with the graphics working i guess, shes had it a few years, but only used it a few times as it was slow compared to mine, its only got 256 ram, with the windows and graphics on it im guessing that makes it slow cus of only having 256 ram,????? it has space in the back or bottom for 2 slots of ram, one slot is used for the 256 ram so theres a spare slot, can i buy 2 x 512 to go into it ???????? or what is the max amount it can handle to speed it up,, ?????? thks in advance

Check on the Toshiba web site, or in the manuals supplied with the laptop, they will tell you what memory it can take.
Otherwise go online to crucial.com and let them scan your laptop.

increasing the ram will help in regards to running more apps at one given time.

You can increase the Ram without a problem

Download the memory scanner and it will tell you the max amount your MOBO can hold.
