First post so please go easy with me

I have an 02 dongle that I am using to connect to the internet and so far so good, but I have a slight problem trying to hook up a satellite reciever a Dreambox 500s.
The box needs to be connected to the internet using an ethernet cable, when I am on line I can do this by putting the cable from laptop to box no problem, but I want to use the box when I am not on line but I cant as the 02 dongle requires me to click 'connect' on the laptop in order to get internet connection, how can I make the dongle connect automatically without needing to press connect?

Basically I want to be able to make this dongle work without having to actually switch on the laptop and click connect, can it be done?

I dont think you can do that mate as the dongle gets the power off laptop/pc 2 make it work..

The plan was to put the dongle into the back of a compatable wireless router and run an ethernet cable to the box, so it will have a power supply as such, but I dont think that it will work as I have to click connect on the laptop, what do you think might it work that way? Thanks again for any replies.

No,You cant put the usb dongle drivers on the router, So it will not work...

I run my dongle off a Edimax 6200n with no problems. However, you CANNOT port-forward under 3G for "advanced" satellite uses :-)
