I phone jailbreak can i update phone

hi guy quick and easy one i jailbroke my iphone 3g about 6mths ago never used i tunes since ifi plug into to itune and update to lastest phone software will it make my phone not unlocked to any networks again

Hi apologies in delay haven't been on here in a while myself, err, itunes can be used if your jailbroken, just don't update, if it asks you to update and you agree, you'll lose your jailbreak and it will put the latest version of itunes on your pc and the latest operating system, currently ios4 on your iphone.
You said your iphone is a 3g, i think you can update to ios 4 on this, there has recently been a jailbreak release for the iphone 4 & ios 4, so your as well to update to 4.0.1 (current version on iphone FOR NOW) and then re-jailbreak with "jailbreakme.com"
you can go straight to this server through safari on your iphone and it will bring a purple screen up and jailbreak your iphone in about two mins, this way your right up to date and you have your jailbreak,
NB Please note though on 3g, if you do upgrade to ios 4.0 3g have been know to be a little laggy, the decision is yours
