you may have the sound set to low on your box and too high on your tv,just re-adjust your box to full (right key next to the ok button)
or press red button twice and you get 2 options on an audio menu select the other option than it is as present,its worth a shot

Do you have an isolater box on the wall? (white box) If not its looking like you may need one as buzzing noise may be caused by the feed not being grounded properly,you can get them from Maplins or even a V1rmen media van in the street,just slip him a few quid for a drink.You can usually relate it to a signal problem if you pull the feed out the box and the buzzing stops...

Have you had any more luck yet mate,are you saying your getting the pulsating picture and buzzing in both yours and your mates houses?If so its highly likely to be a box or firmware fault,maybe try a different computer to flash the firmware and where you getting the firmware from?
