Cable Modems Gotta start somewhere and here's the place to start :)

Bricked Ambit 250 ?
Hi all,
I couldn't get the console unlocker to work on an Ambit 250 (firmware too new?), so used SoftJtag 3.10 and MAX232 to flash the noisy bootloader to give me the p option at boot. I backed up the original bootloader/image 1/image 2/Perm (SA3) and Dynamic memory with SoftJtag with no problems. However when I started to flash the noisy bootloader, SoftJtag crashed, and now the modem will not boot. Softjtag says its connecting with the modem, then crashes, so I can't restore the original bootloader. I have all the software dependencies for SoftJtag installed on Win XP.
From what I've read on here, the only way to fix this is a TSOP lift - is that correct ?
