im assuming that hes new to the whole cable and sat scene,as thats where the main traffic is

He could still use the kv a780 for cable if he wishes as he may just want to get a simple sat receiver for FTA channels without delving in to linux and c/s
Anyway youd be best off posting in the correct forums
