Default Bloody B&Q

Needed to order some timber and stuff to build a door frame and a wardrobe for daughter so I went on line to order it all from B&Q. The web site refused to let me chose home delivery so I gave the help line a call, after a 5 minuet wait I got through to some Calcutta hell hole only to be told that because those items were available in store I could not order them on line I would have to go to my local store and order them there, So off I went only to be told that some things would not be available because they don't stock them and cant order them in I told them what they should do with there store and offered to provide the lubricant.
I came home and tried Wicks and Focus but they didn't do every thing I needed
I gave the Coventry store a call and yes they had everything I needed in stock, and Yes they deliver to Hinckley No they cant take the order on the phone I would have to come in and delivery for a store order is £20 as aposed to £10 on and internet order
What are they playing at, why do they have a web order site if most of the stuff is not available and why don't they go bankrupt with service like this

Simple answer to your problem is to start a business that provides the service that these companies can't or are unwilling to provide, because you can be sure you are not the only one to have this problem. Bad service should never be rewarded with good customers.
Alternatively, for the items you are after, I would go to my local hardware store(Small independent and not nationwide store) get what I need, negotiate a discount and get them to deliver FOC.

I have a Wickes and a B&Q about 500 yards round the corner from each other.

I have lost count how many times, I've gone to one, then to the other, then back to the first one again, to get what I needed.

I hate B&Q, they are way overpriced, terrible customer service, never stock a full range of anything and they now insist on trying to make people use those self service tills.

I can always get what I need from plumbers/builders/timber merchants, at much lower prices as well. Without all the hastle. A quick phone call, or call in and I can be sorted very quickly no hastle. And if they do make a mistake, they usually do alot more to put it right as well.

I love b and q they used to overpay me lol and i thought it was just the MP's that got away with it.

I used to work 8 hours a day but the supervisor always signed me off for 12+ hours a day :0

wow your B&Q have staff!

You can never find them in ours. I have walked out with stuff without paying a few times because there was no one about.

I asked B+Q if they had such and such an item(as I couldnt find it, as the stuff wasnt sorted correctly and was pretty cramped-the things I mean, not the walking space) They just told me its in the plumbing part of B&Q(and we were already in it!)

Normally, I would not go to B&Q for anything I need-instead I go to a local guy, but he and others didnt have what I needed

I used to work for a local timber merchant as a machinist, after hearing stories from customers about neighbouring Wickes/Homebase and B&Q im supprised they aint shut down, above all the prices are astronomical. You real should stick with the local guys and above all alot of the local merchants/building supplies are ex tradesman so know what there talking about.
