If the fear that these glasses could somehow affect the brain was true, we would have a lot less 3D movies in cinemas, wouldnt we?

A lot of people out there really cant see 3D movies (cinema or TV) and a significant number of those (myself included) see nothing but blurry 2D images which rapidy lead to quite severe headaches. As far as i'm concerned, the technology just isn't ready for mass consumer use at this point as it does cause a lot of people to feel ill when attempting to watch.

When a laser (or similar) can construct a fully 3D image in a 3D space (instead of crude psuedo stereoscopic brain-trickery) then perhaps 3D will be ready for the mass market !

Thanks for that. I knew that some people can simply not process 3d images, but I didn't realise that it can cause headaches or anything
