HD channels : Virgin media have about 12 with up to half a dozen in the pipeline.
Sky have approx 43

the days of free cable TV are just about all over due to the new nagra3 encryption.

the new boxes will only work through a card sharing system (forum rules do not allow discussion of CS)
the channels are streamed from the internet so to get the service you will need the box to be connected to the internet at all times of viewing.
it is still illegal and you will be relying on whoever is running the server.
you will also have to pay for this service.

In my opinion the best advice I can give, is to get the best deal you can from either Sky or VM for a year and see how things settle out.

Thumbs up Re: starview hd combo + lan... HELP...ADVICE PLZ

Its all down to individual pockets and wallets... the c/s method is the alternative to getting your channels back on thats a not a problem...

however the box that your getting which i assume is the SV 6 from what I just read, however the problem is that you see the price your gettin the box @ is fecking cheap but considering there server keeps going down every so often and people having problems with channel lose etc etc... Do you really think that its wise to spend '' 99GBP''

Advantages are that you will save a lot of money in the long run even if you have it for say 6 months.

if you want to go the legit way then sure why not @ least then you have that guarantee that it will last as long as you keep paying your subscription

Remember the c/s method is not safe unless you use a VPN and it requires a 24/7 stable Internet connection.

This is a decision that you would need to make yourself and no one else can really make it for you mate.

Best advice get a box that works......... and not up and down all the bloody time ...... ok ya pay a little more for the A780 krypt, but you are getting a box that has support and is working, but at the end of the day the choice is yours we can only advise you not hold your hand.
