Hi guys
When trying to flash the software into the reciever my problem is i dont have a laptop, so i am relying on my Destop computer which the way i have it setup i cannot move. My question is i have 2 RS232 cables and when joined together with a mini gender changer from maplin will reach my reciever, I think this could be the reason i keep getting the ERROR RECIEVER NOT DETECTED the wires or pins could be wired up differently, I think i need to buy a new RS232 CABLE at aprox 3meters. what do you think lads... |

What do you need a 3m cable for, cant you just connect euro to 1 cable, box dosnt need to be on floor, just hold it in hand as close as you can cause it only takes about 3 mins to flash.laptops are notouriously crap for flashing eurovox

hi m8 ,it doesn't matter about which rs232 is best they are all same, all you have too do is unplug the box from sons room and take it to pc and connect it and flash it.you dont need the cab feed plugged in to flash box

Are you saying then that all i have to do is just take the reciever to my pc power it up and flash the box, I thought you needed the cable supply and TV connected as well. |

You will need a null modem cable, you can connect 2 serial cables together then a null modem cable, maybe that will reach. I use 3 serials and a null modem connected together to reach my various STB's

Hi Guys think someones talking at cross purposes here.To flash a box you only need a power supply to the box and a null modem from the box to the PC.No cable input or scart lead is neede to flash.Hope this clears this up.StevieG
