EX1000SL firmware.

Hi guys, I am new to this forum and just wondered if you could help me out in regards to a Eurovox EX1000SL. I've just bought a brand new box with firmware V1.0 ST4 Aug 21 2008, however when I came to set my box up after doing both a fast and deep scan, only the free channels are available.

Question 1: Do I need to update the firmware to receive all the channels?

Question 2: When going to the EX1000SL download folder here ... Eurovox - Folder Shared from Box.net how do I know which file to download?

Hi mate ,what area are you from,these boxs are going rapidly going off mate,each area is changing encryption 1 by 1 and you have bought yours as they are nearly all converted to the new uncracked Nagra 3 encryption,im sorry to spring it on ya but you may be in an area thats already changed mate.If it as your box is uselass,for your intrest i own the same box as you and we reiceved our new cards about a week ago in Wigan.

Looks like I might have just wasted £70!!!! I live not far from you in Chorley. Is it worth updating the firmware or is it a waste of time. And should I ask Eurovox for a refund?? Haha!! I think not!!! Thanks for your reply...

Hi,

Dont update and try to return for a refund.

If you bought it over the net or phone I believe that "distance selling" law gives you 7 days return for any reason.

If you update it though this will void the warrenty so you wont be able to return.

What site did you buy it from?

Many thanks for that. I will try for a refund but I guess Eurovox will put up a fight if they know all their boxes will be going off. I did wonder when I checked the firmware and it was April 2008!!! Possibly very old stock I guess!! I will keep you posted.
