info needed on Digitrex tvs

have just bought 2 tvs from currys a 22" and 26" lcd with usb socket
you can record prog and watch later no probs on usb stick
on the 26" i can download a film in avi convert to mpeg 2 put on stick and watch on tv.
but it dosnt work on 22" also if you record a prog on stick cant watch it on other tv
i can see that the 26" records it as mpeg 2 the 22" records as mpeg-2 ts
have tried a converter convert mpeg2 to mpeg2 ts but that didnt work as there is a rcd file as well and dont know what that is for
any info would be great
