Default Quick question

For research/curiosity purposes...

If you had say, Virgin Internet 20mb but no tv/phone line subscription and you were pretty confident your tv feed works, would you be able to receive HD channels with a V HD box supplied with a subscription card, bought illegally from ebay?

It's a shame really because freesat hd doesn't offer that many hd channels so that would be a great "freeview" alternative. And the boxes are so cheap whereas a freeview hd one is like £80 at the min and a cable feed is much more reliable than the coat hanger on the roof.
