it was a total rant at the state of the scene in these troubling times :P

It can be done however since i have witnessed at my own hands it can be done. If people want to research it they are welcome to. If you want to use it to get a faster speed for free it aint too reliable to leave on all the time. Since as previous posts the CMTSs are getting alot more restrictive in what they are allowing to go operational, additionally alot of the CMTSs and UBRs are running more similar profiles on security compared to back in the day.

back in the day you could walk over to the another overlay and it would have completely different security settings eg in the space of half a mile you would have one overlay that was running with bpi 1.0 enforced, the next overlay would have no enforcement of BPI so it would run on or off, even some places where if you ran BPI enabled it wouldnt work and you would be forced to run with bpi disabled.

I actually wonder if the network could now run with little or no STM in many areas. considering that when stm was introduced the network was absolutely rife with cloned CMs

its just a rant, alot of the posts on these forums at the moment are just regoing over old ground that has been talked about many times before. like all the posts about the nagravision encryption upgrades, and the fact about such tight restrictions appearing on the cmtss.
Get a grip pal, You're not the only one who knows what you said before about cloning the modems, I didn't see anyone asking for a silver spoon job just peeps asking for more information in a thread about the 50mb modem.

Get back on your high horse and ride away before you get hurt.
