apologies in advance, does a sky box have talk back, when its not plugged in to a phone line??? also why do you need it plugged in if your not interested in PPV and Sky interactive??

yes it phones sky back every week at your expense
to tell them what you are watching so they know what to leave running and what to cancel if no body is watching it
but only if the phone line is connected
and if you have multi room to make sure all box's are in the same property
if sky supply ed your box its in the contract to have to phone line connected for a minimum of 12 months if you only have the one box after 12 months disconnect the phone
but as said earlier multi room has to be left connected or they will charge you the full price for both boxes instead of £ 10 for the second box
