card?
ive been given a eurovox max v for free and was planning on using it for a few months until the big "N" my only questions is do i need a card for it to work or do i put the co*es on the box using my null modem? btw i have a duolabs dynamite card reader/writer and 2 fun4 cards and a open platform 4th generation.? any help appreciated. ps. im from the modem side of the forum

if it has the latest firmware on it you will only need to scan for channels.
if it hasn't then you can input the c*des manually or you can flash the box with the latest firmware. (you do not need any cards) if you go into Menu/Config/system Information Press OK this will give details of firmware...post back all the info |

im only gunna have the box around 8 ish so ill post back later, ive just done a bit of reading into it ect.
how can i tell which area im in ie ex ntl , telewest? |

If you say where you are someone will probably be able to tell you (nearest town)
regardless, if you are in the UK you will need to scan on symbolrate 6887 or 6952 one will get you channels the other won't |

Manchester is split and can be either (you can wait until someone from that area reports or just try them both)

Gaz try Telewest 6952 iam in Platt Waz and Leigh is the same as Wigan.

when you get to the powerscan screen there is a box labelled symbolrate, enter 6952 into the box and then scan for channels.
when you get your channels you will need to enter the c**es manually as the firmware you have on the box is old and will not autoupdate the c**es |
