What do members think about a child forum under smartphones for tech discussions about android?

i got the samsung galaxy s and i'm struggling to gte my head around it. i've had a good play with the gps and wi-fi and the apps but i beleive you can send text msg's on these things and even make a phone call! heh

i have a galaxy great phone,have you rooted it yet and did you get on tmobile if so you will have jg3 f/w you can install custom r2 which roots it or you can update to jg5 and install custom rom r3

or the very lastest f/w jm1,jm2

very fast gps works great

and the psx emu and other emu run great doom,quake

great phone all round really

dont know about rooting it, still mucking with the apps such as connect bot ect.

i can have a really good look at my network inc ports and ip's and talk to the linux boxes and ftp files to them.

what are the benefits of rooting them?

In short gives you and applications full SU access, opens up new tools that cant work without it, even have a ftp server on mine.
The cooked roms are better then stock too, usually faster and waste less memory, now official desire 2.2 is out chefs are cooking new roms personally waiting for leedriod's
