Question Unblocking PIN on virgin media pace box???

Is there anyway of unblocking a pin (for the over 18s movies etc) on a pace box (DN4001 box)? Someone (main suspect is housemate's girlfriend ) has typed the PIN in wrong 3 times, and so now we cant get movies. Obviously we can't phone virginmedia to reset the pin as the box is chipped.. Any help/advice much appreciated

if its a 4001 and it works your in pure ntl so you dont need to worry about the netid hack.

all you need to do is open the box and pull the red jumper near the battery and leave off for 5 mins.

then when you boot the box hold up and down on the front pannel and it will boot to eng menu, you then set the pin in there

Thanks for the info. What do you mean by pure ntl? This area used to be ntl but now its virginmedia. If I do the red jumper thing are you 100% that the box will still be 'chipped' when I turn it back on or will it have to be done again?

you cant be 100% sure of anything but what i have told you is the best way to go.

if the box isn't faulty, it *should* come back on after it has sorted itself out.

if you let the box boot up fully the first time you power it up after the jumper removal and replace you'll soon know if its going to be ok.

Ok thanks again for the advice. I will have to discuss with my housemates to see if they think its worth the risk of doing this. The most important thing to us is the sports channels which we currently have so not too sure if it is worth the risk with the football season coming up in the next few weeks
