Default can a chipped VM HD box be used legit in same house?

Hi Guys, newbie here just looking through all the forum picking up advice all around so thanks for that but cant find an answer to my question.

im in the same situation as most who are missing the good old days. When my VM hd box (chipped) started to play up i decided to look into going down the legit road.
A friend put me on to the sky bestbuy offer which i quickly took up. Basicly half price full package + free HD with sky. I had problems getting it installed...needed special heights team who twice didnt turn up so i took the huff and cancelled the sky package before it was installed. At the time i didnt realise i wouldnt get near the same deal again so now im concidering going back to VM as a new customer as my contract ended lastweek after giving notice.
My main problem is we all see people on fantastic deals/offers but when i look into it myself i dont seem to be getting anything great so i think im going to go back to VM and be done with it.
Does anyone know if this VM HD box would accept legit subscription or would i need to buy a new box off them? just seems a bit of a waste so wondered if i could just accept a free box off them with XL then use the new card in the HD box?
any advice would be much appriciated
Thanks
Ray

Since the cards are paired with the box, the card will not work in any other box. In other wards you will need to use the card in the box that they supply you with..
