hello everyone. i work for virgin (i really wish i didn't)
![]() OK so i get staff broadband at the moment and its quite a good for the price, £1.50 for 20mb. but i will be leaving soon, and have to pay full price. I was wondering if there is a way to pay for the 2mb service (yes we still sell it) or the 10mb, and bump the speed to 20mb. If i get one of the haxorware 1.1 r39 modems, is it fairly easy to make increase the speed if i have a service already? or is it just as much hassle? can i use my current MAC address? i am not that technical so please speak without fear of patronising me

It can be done but is probably not worth the hassle as they go off more than they are on, its only the technical guys that can keep getting them back on again, £1.50 for 20mb dont quit !

the £10 deal is called "in-touch" and is available to any virgin media employee in a cabled area, not sue about joining date. if your new it might be a different deal. i couldn't get the deal until i worked for 6 months. as for the modems, can't i just copy the mac address i have now and use it when i disconnect? sounds like the bill has been made up as 2MB connections are no longer sold... They upgraded there customers to 10MB and eradicated the 2MB connection. my mate just joined VM and there sales team never offered the 2MB connection. it was either 10, 20 or 50MB connection. Nothing listed on the VM site regarding the sell of 2mB connection.
