Default Virgin

I have just moved into a temporary property which has Virgin installed, there are two cables running from the wall port but neither of these are standard aerials for the normal 1-5 channels.....I think they are coaxial cables???

Is there a converter which can be used? How can I get around this problem as I don't want to subscribe to Virgin.

Thanks

there is a converter you can buy around 1.50 pounds wich has both connectors back to back use the screw end to screw on to your cable and plug your arial into the other end this will give you channels 1to5 remeber that only one cable connector gives tv pictures the other is for radio hope this helps

Assuming that the ports are Virgin Media cable outlets then you will get exactly nothing without a suitable STB.

There will be no analogue or DVB-T signal, just DVB-C.

Thats correct, VM dropped the analog signals from their wires a good while ago in most areas. Using VM's cable in any way for TV now requires the use of some form of digital stb. If the area has already gone N3 then your options are even more limited !

Thanks for the replies. I've tried the cable converter and still nothing, even with my STB.

Any other suggestions?

So now you tell us you have a STB!

Might be useful if you tell us what box it is and where you are.

These two cables running from the wall, have you followed them to see where they go ???, are they connected to the brown box outside, or do they go upwards towards an arial or dish ?????, or is it just a giant ant with its head stuck through the wall. or do they say "240 volt do not touch"
