Hi Folks,
Looked at several posts as my DBOX needs reflashing and the guy I bought it from wants £50 to do it which I can't afford. I tried using the following link from youtube: YouTube - Flashing a dbox via ftp
but it doesn't work, is it an old one? done everything it aksed me to do,
desperate to get it working, any advice would be greatfully appreciated.

is it a dbox1 or 2, have you got a mate nearby who has a working one ??, if so just save the image off his and ftp it accross to yours, job done.

Hi, got DBOX2, tried to reflash using FTP etc and got no channels, had a new Virmin card recently think the dreaded N3 has hit my area. Can't even get BBC1, about 5 channels ;o(

Know nobody near, been looking on here and realise have to be careful what to say but any advice would be very helpful.

p.s I'm not a complete retard, honest ;o)

Just say what area you are in, and somebody will tell you if its gone N3, also what image did you flash your box with ???, there are a few things you goto do after you flashed it, did you ftp the "Magic Keys" and change each file to chmod 755, google it, there is a lot of tuts about it. Then you have to set your netid, then scan, google it, there are lots of tuts about.

Exeter area, I followed the youtube clip on my first message, used CuteFTP, followed the instructions backed up one partition and img file and renamed it which I did then deleted the original img file. The file I saved and renamed put back onto into DBOX and reflashed, nothing changed.
That's why I'm stuck, haven't got a clue, any links?
Googled chmod 755, never seen that and haven't heard of Magic Keys, stuck!

what is the problem you have with the software thats installed .?
say the image name on it now

got about 6 programmes like E4 +1. My DBOX software is called Andromeda - V.20 - XENAFAN
Anywhere I can download or somewhere to show me how reload a new image from scratch, not sure what I am using is correct or the latest verison.
Or is the Exeter area got the N3 and so go no choice but to give up!

I personally think you are wasting time with that box and its just so much easier to find an alternative rather then doing soul searching and trying to get something to work, when you know that N3 will make that box go defect.
