There is no problem...at the moment...in using an official SKY Italia card.
As you will probably know there is a case going through the European courts at the moment. A decision isn't expected till next year nd even then, whatever the decision you can expect an appeal.

The nub of the argument is with a pan European market for everything else (you can buy your right hand drive car in Holland if you want and bring it here, or your French wine etc. etc.) why doesn't the same rules apply for television? Why should media company's be protected by virtual borders when no one else is?

As for people demanding to see your card, I don't know about pubs, but Social clubs are a little different. You don't need to let anyone in you don't want. So if anyone turns up you simply refuse them entry.

Anyway...I'll give Ian at Southern a call I think, for six weeks Sky UK money we can get a years sub from Italia

If they ask to see the card you can tell them to feck off of ya want. But they are likely to start sending threatening letters etc on the assumption that you cant so your using c/s to show the channels. If you show them the card, without handing it over to them, they will leave you alone as they can't do anything until the EU Courts have ruled.
