Hi all, im moving house soon and notice the new house has a sky dish up, is this usefull foranything, i dont want to subscribe to sky but was told i could use dish for freesat hd or even plug a sky box in and get all ftv channels,,,, will this work???

Yes, it will do what you'd like, as long as the dish is still correctly aligned and functional.

It will pick up all the FTA channels on Astra 2, 28.2E, including any HD ones, providing you have a HD receiver.
From what I've read, some channels are planning to encrypt their new proposed HD channels, on 28.2E, so you might require a Sky subscription, and receiver, in the future.
Check the link to see what free channels you can get, the ones with a red F.
